Becker has a growing interest in the field of biotechnology and is invested in such companies. He is mostly interested in companies and centers that attempt to cure cancer. Even though he lacks the medical training needed in such a field, he admits that he has gained enough exposure to trigger his interest some approaches towards the treatment of cancer. Aside from real estate and biotechnology, Becker has worked in fields such as investment banking and fashion business. He is one of the major financial advisers of Vera Wang Fashion Company that is owned by his wife. He has also tried making a business out of his love for art and photography through his currents works that concentrate on the common images on the different currencies.

After garnering these experience she entered the private sector when she joined law firm Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Robbin. It was after a successful 10 years at this law firm, during which time she became a Partner, that she joined the Securities and Trade Commission.
